Don't get the spikes!!!! I just had it go burst mode shooting at 500 yards today. Thought I might have bump fired it but it was the safety not holding long enough for the sear and fired on releasing the trigger. it has 5-10k on it and even if it's a cleaning issue, that's unacceptable!!! Damn. Sometimes that's the problem with aftermarket parts. I think that's why guys have had issues with both AR's and 1911's. You change one little thing on a part and it sometimes has unintended consequences. Not to beat it to death, but that's another reason I like to stay with good mil-spec stuff. Until a gun/part has thousands of rounds through it and years of use, I don't like to trust my ass to it. Sermon over. Stand and sing.

Good sermon. The Geissle is suppose to be a safer design but any design that relies on catching the sear after the safety is release instead of catching then releasing is flawed IMO. That's how MILSPEC works and it's flawed. I'm going to investigate how the Geissle does it, but I assumed it was the same way.

A little off point: Geissele triggers.
The word Geiselle. Phonetically JIZZ-ELLE.
HOW THE F*CK, in any phonetics, is that Guisley? (I had to look this up a few times, when people talked about 'Guisley' triggers. (Or Guysley, Guislee, ANYTHING remotely the same...)
Hell. Geiselle is very close to a Germanic girls name. It's JIZZ-ELLE.'
Funny use of 'Jizz' aside... It irks me at how totally RANDOM the pronunciation is. I will GIVE YOU Aluminum. I will GIVE YOU sidewalk. I'll even stretch to Faucet (Still can't explain this, outside a French influence...)
But this is just weird...

Looks like a safer design to me. I took a look at the failing trigger and saw nothing obvious compared to the lesser worn on in my other rifle that still works.
I did notice that the "good" one only has 25% engagement indicated by wear pattern.
Will be replacing with an SSA-E and ALG (non-nickel version) ASAP.

This is really tricky stuff. After working in the gun industry and seeing various levels of QC on parts, you would be amazed at what a few thousands of an inch can do, or not do. It really doesn't take a whole lot, to get a tolerance stack in the wrong direction and cause a malfunction. You change one little thing, on one part, and see the cascading affect downstream on all the others. I saw this up close and personal on 1911 designs. When you stick to the mil-spec, the 1911 works very well. When you don't, you risk a lot of problems. Same with the AR's. When you use different parts than what it was designed with, you risk having problems. Now I'm not pushing the mil-spec cuz it's the traditional or whatever. I'm saying that something needs to be tested out over the years to insure it works before you drop it into your piece. That's all.
So you could say, after my experiences, I have a sensitivity to using new parts in my weapons, until they are proven to be utterly reliable. I've seen way too much shit to trust the gun industry any longer. But if an individual wants to test this stuff out on his own, and can prove it works better, then I'll take a look at it. Eventually. Only took me twenty odd years to warm up to the Glock.

I just saw on spikes website that they back the triggers with a lifetime warranty. Will be sending both back to test it.
No ALG for now, will be curious to see the QC of triggers coming out now. I bought them when they first came out and before ALG was and option.
UPDATE: Sent an email to spike today and they got back with an RMA in less than 4 hours. They want to look at them before sending a replacement out. I'm going to try and get credit toward a Geisselle SSA-E from them if possible. Ordered one from BCM today also.

SSA-E has arrived. How did I live without one? Will put it to the test at 600yards Monday and see if it does better than the Spikes did last Monday.
