The Snake Eater Tactical (SET) War Belt has been working out pretty well for me. The layered belt system is pretty clever because it scales so easily from slick to jocked up. It dons and doffs easily and it is much less bulky than the pad/sleeve-over-belt setups that I was used to.
It's versatile enough to work with MOLLE or belt pouches. Its comfortable enough to wear all day in a course. It's also very easy to run a holster on in just about any imaginable configuration since the outer belt is exposed.
It, or really any well-thought out belt, works really well with a UW Gear chest rig. It lets me keep my chest rig mags covered up tight and have quick access mags on the belt... best of all worlds.

Why worry about low profile if you're carrying a rifle?

Why worry about low profile if you're carrying a rifle? Depends how low profile you're carrying the rifle, and what the scenario is. It's much easier to up-arm yourself than it is to go lower profile.

Finished tweaking my battle belt for the moment, this is more of a bump in the night thing for me since I sleep in shorts without a belt, quick to put on and take off. My AO kind of precludes the use of a battle belt unless we go to true WROL (maybe after a ridiculous hurricane but probably not), so I don't have a lot invested into it at the moment. Counter-clockwise: -My SR22 (working on it guys) in a Crossbreed Snapslide that I never could grow to like and couldn't get any buyers for it, zip tied in multiple places so it doesn't shift on the MOLLE -Two 5.56 mags, two mags for the SR22 in a Condor pouch bought back when I didn't care about quality gear, added a magnet to each pistol mag pouch to make sure the pistol mags stay in. Toying with the idea of adding those kydex inserts to the rifle mag slots. -Fixed blade knife that was a gift, sheath is zip tied in place so it doesn't shift on the MOLLE -Grimloc which is probably gonna come off Belt is an Eagle belt which can be found for around $20, added triglides so the belt stays tight. www.amazon.com/Military-MOLLE-Eagle-Industries-Padded/dp/B00BEKVAJK/ref=sr_1_18?ie=UTF8&qid=1469492500&sr=8-18&keywords=molle+beltMagnets were faily easy to add to the pistol pouches, slid them behind the elastic on the pouch so they're held in place by the elastic and the velcro webbing where the pouch's flap previously was. It's a bit of squeeze to get them in there, but they're not going anywhere. Magnets were around $2 for a four pack.

Aaannnnddd it's changed again. Went through some pouches I had and reconfigured it a little, holster is the ambidextrous condor one. Found out you can cut those condor double kangaroo pouches so that you have two individual pouches.
