usmc0331 I think it is exactly what it says; a WAR belt. And as an overt method of carrying kit for section/platoon level operations? It's bloody good. I'd stand by the war/battle belt all day, I think they're the bees knees for light infantry ops. For anything else... Needs to be a little lower profile, and, chances are, workable with vehicles, which a fully loaded set of webbing just isn't.... Exactly, for going to war on foot a modern version of the 782 gear I was issued (ala MV) is a great setup. Unfortunately "warbelt" is one of those overused terms these days and the trend is to call any ammo loaded belt such, it's not. A "warbelt" in my mind is first/second line combined for fighting and survival. They are high profile by any standard, but in war... who cares. The trend is to mimic what the .mil is doing, but most civilians would be better served by thinking out THEIR mission a little more before buying gear, lest they end up running full circle like myself.

@anyone: Would be interested to hear thoughts on my thoughts, and any suggestions on improvements or knowledge about RCS moduloader etc, and if they're any good. I would be.

You see "warbelts" a lot these days among the three-gun crowd and the training crowd. The "what do I need for SHTF is frequently answered with warbelt nowadays. I disagree vehemently, I see it as a lazy way often used as a second line would be, not a 1st line. (I feel the same way about folks that have special "match" guns.) I see a purpose to warbelts, but as a more extensive first line, among people who have plate carriers as second line and never have to get in and out of vehicles smaller than humvees and will never have to ditch their rifle and second line to blend with the sheep in the FEMA food line.

I have the hsgi suregrip and it's awesome. I like for 2 reasons. 1. Training. It holds just the basics. Ammo, water, first aid, side arm and perhaps a knife. I can wear it all day with no discomfort. 2. It makes a great first line as previously discussed. It's really quick to go snap and be armed, have minimal supply for a limited engagement. It is supplemented by a 2nd line chest rig.
I like redundancy. I can drop my belt or rig and still have tools for the fight.

I was thinking of using the Suregrip as the base for a Max Belt.

I had one for a while, very nice, recommend them. I would not recommend their suspender though, a little over complicated. SOE has good simple suspenders.

I've pretty much come full circle on the "warbelt" and have given up on them.... Can I change my mind again? LOL The whole "scale up" thing just didn't work for me and my CH does not play well with a "light" belt rig so... I'm back to the warbelt (not a padded gunbelt like I see most setup as) that allows a full loadout. Reason why is the more I work scenarios in training, the more I see very low profile and very high profile as the only two likely options. Very low profile is the rig below and a carbine. Vehicle ops is going to be that rig and semi-slick PC with an extra CAT-T, radio, and (3-5) extra AR mags like using the Banshee setup below. Patrolling will be the setup above with/without the PC depending on distance and adding the Battle Bag below for distance. One of the best features to a warbelt with suspenders is the ability to move the kit to either hand by unbuckling it and hanging on the suspenders. I also run an upgraded Lg ALICE for a BOB so it works well with the belt in this case. Side note: The HEAVY loadout is just a possible load, not one I plan to carry but I like the option if my PT level gets there.

I'm still working on my new "warbelt" as well. I'm kinda splitting the track to with pistol and without. The with pistol will be similar to what you're doing here. The without will be heavier AR load out for deep woods stuff. The with is more for home defense/near term stuff.
I totally agree with you on updating your old "deuce" gear. Some times, places this works better than a chest rig.

I'm still planning to setup a CH for deep patrol without a belt at all which means no pistol. I'm hoping it's gonna be a UW that I win during the 200th customer giveaway. I'm watching that number very closely

I just realized you were using the 1 or 2 mag elastic pouches. That is really smart. Light/heavy with the same exact real estate.

Yeah, and surplus for $18.00 delivered ( Eagle Double Mag Pouches) I really like the new SAW pouches for $9.00 also ( New SURPLUS Saw Pouches) The Eagle pouches are really tight with 2 in them, the condors are much better for this, but I intend to run them as singles 99% of the time so they Eagles work perfect. Got my TT FL Harness in today also, me likey! Low pro, has a drag handle,<$40.00 delivered and had enough routing for an external mic.

I'm wanting some new gear. Kinda waiting on UW gear to come up with their double mag pouch. I do have 2 of those that you have (diff brand) but I was using one as a holster and it works great.

Here's a link to my blog post on my battle belt. I have trained with mine and really like it. For patrol operations this really fits my needs. Check out the post for the reasons behind gear choices. Not trying to drive traffic to my site just too lazy. refreshingthetree.blogspot.com/2014/10/battle-belt-update.html
