Everyone likes to see pictures, and every forum seems to need a picture thread, so here we are. Personally, I like picture threads as I like to see what others are doing with their weapons, how they are setting them up, etc., as it gives me new and different ideas on how I want to set up mine. Its also a good way for someone shopping, to see what all is available on the market and how things can potentially be set up. Here is one of my previous builds, and probably my all time favorite of all the AR's I've had and put together over the years.

Here is an AR that I have been wringing out lately. I built this to be fairly lightweight without doing anything goofy and without breaking the bank on a rail. My wife really likes this one which is nice because it was essentially built for her. The upper is a BCM 14.5" lightweight profile mid-length. It has MOE Hand Guards with a Surefire M600 Scout on an IWC SMC Light Mount. There is an IWC Micro QD MOUNT-N-SLOT set into the hand guards as the front sling mount and a DD QD end plate for the rear. The handstop is from IWC as well. This picture was taken while I was evaluating a Tareinco VTP sling. It typically has a padded VTAC sling. I built this with a specific goal in mind (a carbine for my wife) but this is really becoming the rifle that I reach for just about every time. Lighter is almost always better when it comes to rifles I guess.

Good looking AR. I've was a fan of the 14.5" lightweight midlengthsyears before anyone really gave them any thought.

yeah, i'm an ESEE fan... BCM midlength, gov't profile barrel, magpul furniture, ikickhippies sling plate and an IWC sling loop for the front... savvy sniper quad sling has been added since the pic. minuteman rig in ATACS-FG... (a musket/'hawk lower would be pretty awesome...)

ha! that's the main reason i haven't picked up a bayonet... an ontario knife on an esee carbine would just be wrong. thought about seeing if somebody could modify a 6 into a bayonet, but it seems a bit frivolous.
... so, how about some musket/hawk lowers? i need another excuse...

Otis, go with a Junglas as the bayonet. If the bad guys gets that close, it will scare the heck out of them.

Here is mine. It is a Palmetto State Armory M4. I replaced the hand guards, stock, pistol grip, and trigger guard with Magpul MOE in Foliage green. It has an MBUS rear sight that I am using until I can get a decent optic. The only thing I have replaced internally (after firing it and determining that it is needed) is the standard buffer with an H buffer. Attachments:

My two new favorites are both built from complete BCM uppers, and lowers that were assembled by me (on Aero Precision stripped lowers). My 20" A4-type rifle. This one is a little heavy, but I like that it is a real soft shooter, with the rifle length gas tube and buffer system. The Magpul MOE Rifle Stock feels more rugged, to me, than my carbine stocks, and it has a trap door compartment that stores a Boresnake, some lube, and batteries. The Aimpoint M4S has, I think, an eight year constant-on run time from the single AA battery, and the Surefire P3X Fury blasts out 1000 lumens…enough to illuminate targets out to 200 yards like a vehicle's head lights. My 11.5" vehicle PDW…my "get back home" weapon. Because this weapon is a "pistol", it falls under the auspices of my Concealed Handgun License, so I can legally carry this loaded and concealed in my truck 100% of the time. If it was a registered, stamped SBR carbine, then I could not legally do so. The T1 Micro, A2 front sight and Daniel Defense 1.5 rear sight are all solid and tough, and they will not get knocked out of zero when banging around inside of my vehicle. The Sig SB15 pistol stabilizing brace (which is not a stock) helps me to control the sharper recoil of this short barreled blaster. The accompanying shoulder bag (made for me by Colin of 7.62tactical) holds P mags, Glock 9mm pistol and mags, trauma dressing, batteries, street maps, etc. I have a 500 Lumen P2X Fury on this one.
