@ Dave: I havea question. Only ever having used issued ammunition or 'messed around' on static ranges in America with friends rifles/handguns and some rental stuff, why do you use a different load in winter and summer? Does the weather affect pistol ballistics THAT much? Or is it a reliability issue/recoil (with cold hands) issue etc?
Cheers for the info,
Panzer

Cheers for the info, Panzer I live up North, and we get some darn cold winter days. I'm concerned mostly about thick layers of clothing that I may have to penetrate through and hope to have the round expand at the right time rather than too early. The critical duty has the a plastic insert inside of the hallow point which "supposedly"; "works to keep the bullet and core from separating for maximum weight retention and proven terminal performance through all FBI test barriers." Gimmick or not, I want what ever upper hand I can get.

Thanks for that - Makes a lot of sense, something for me to consider in the future!

@ Currahee - I take it the lack of torch and the extra mag on the top belt is because it's a more overt setup, with the idea of the pistol being a backup rather than a primary, whereas the lower one (mostly going on the belt they're sat on, btw) is for EDC?

Glock 19 4th Gen., loaded with 15+1 Federal Premium 9x19mm 135gr Hydra-Shock JHP Premium Personal Defence (LR) rounds, plus an extra 15 more in the extra magazine. (Been researching them new fancy hollow points, with those plastic ballistic tips, though.)
Rides in a G-Code INCOG with mag caddy, with a personal comfort mod performed by yours truly.
The extra INCOG clip was re-purposed for this guy...

I got it brand new for just under $500, so I couldn't really complain about the color. Honestly, though, I think I would've picked FDE, if the choice was available for the same price. I have a later production run model, so I've had no issues with it. I saw they had issues with the first few runs of the Gen 4's, so I held off until that stuff got sorted.

@ Paul; I have to ask, never having touched revolvers. Reloading that thing, assuming there is something bad happening.... Is it really as crap as people say, or is it just a 'skill'?
There's always a lot of hate towards certain things, and it seems for a LOT of them, it's just a training thing. Finally finding someone who carries one and is willing to trust it... What's the gen?

I love revolvers. My j frame is 100% reliable and easy to carry. I'll be the first to admit that I don't have enough realistic training time or stressful reloading practice. The speedstrips work well, but it is definitely slower than a semiauto. I live in a safe area and just hope that I won't be attacked by multiple assailants. I would need to find cover to survive reloading the revolver. If I knew I had to go into a bad area I would carry my Glock 19. Otherwise, I feel adequately protected with the Smith.
