Not a joke. Magpul AK Pmags are coming out this summer. I just now found out about these, and if they are even half the price of the US Palms, then I will likely have found a new polymer magazine. It looks like there are going to be two versions; an all polymer one, and also a polymer with steel reinforcements.

Here's hoping they produce a 5.45 and 5.56 version as well.

Here's hoping they produce a 5.45 and 5.56 version as well. I believe I read that the current offerings were the first of a series of mags. If I still had my AK I'd wait for the steel reinforced ones. Their polymer is strong and i trust it but the AK mag lock takes its toll. Hope they come out with mags for other rifles now! M14 mags please.

Always glad when there is another sturdy, US made ak mag. Makes compliance easier.

Just imagine if you could get Magpul FURNITURE as well. Something like the original Masada with a folding/telescoping stock would rock out!

I have hands on the new mag. I like it enough that I ordered more of them.
Initial impressions of the Magpul PMAG 30 AK/AKM GENM3 are very good. They are slim and and handle well. The follower rides in a track in the mag body to prevent tilt - very cool. The metal that reinforces the front lug comes about half way down the front of the mags. The rear lug is shaped to prevent undue wear and tear on your mag pouches (no more filing!). They are easily disassembled without tools.
The ability to add Ranger plates is nice but will screw with pouches. They also make an already long magazines even longer. The Ranger Plates do make the bottom of the mag more stable if using as a monopod in the prone.
It functioned fine through 60 rounds. I just received it today and squeezed off a few rounds before dark so this is NOT a review.
