Excellent question, I am glad you asked it! And the answer is... ... a resounding YES!!! It's a tight fit, but it works: closing the tab is a bit harder, but opening it is a breeze as usual. Congratulations UW Gear, you can expect the orders from the Austrian, Luxembourgian, Irish, Omani, Australian & New Zealand armed forces to arrive shortly... Unfortunately I have only one 42 rds Steyr AUG mag. I tried it in 2 Minuteman MKII chest rigs & 1 bandoleer. I tried all 9 pockets, the mag was full & I put 2 AK mags in the other pockets. In one coyote chest rig, the fit was very, very tight with a lot of strain on the threads. In the other one in Pencott Greenzone as well as in the coyote bandoleer, the mag fit snugly with no strain. No idea why there is a difference between the two as I don't see any difference in construction. Written with my iPhone. Now let's just see if I manage to add pictures to this message!?!

Thats a pretty convenient solution to carrying the 42rd ers. I imagine a very slight difference in tolerance would account for the tighter fit, they are hand sewn after all.

I agree that it is awesome. I will also probably order one of those as I ordered this one for a friend. I also need to get at least 3 more of those mags as I own only this copy! Attachments:

On the left? Slight stretch? Yep, you got it right! You're welcome. I had to buy the ProBoards app to be able to put the pictures there straight from my iPhone.

Ha, ha, ha! Around here in the land of the Switzers, I can get those for 65 Swiss francs. I would love to be able to order them from "The Big Supermarket," i.e. those U.S. of A., but because of the unconstitutionnal ITAR I can't anymore! Remember, RKBN is a human right & foreigners are people too...

AK 7,62 40 rounders on each side. Flaps can't close of course, but they can be nicely tucked in into the pouch itself & they even give -for retention purpose- a bit of tension to what is already a snug fit. For all of you RPK aficionados who were still wondering! Attachments:
