How hard is it to find someone who can work on ak's!!!
I want to get a barrel threaded and NO ONE would touch it, except for 1 person who wants $250 bucks since because you know....its an ak.
Well after 3 days of looking for some one I finally did!
$50 bucks no big deal, he personally owns a rifle like mine and has extensive knowledge on how to work on it!
Ya I have to ship it to him, but man at least its in my state!

What rifle is it and who have you contacted?
I use InRange and have been very satisfied. The only caveat is that Troy doesn't work on Rommys.

I would be interested to see how this turns out. I also have a MAK 90, and I was not certain if there was enough material on the end of my barrel for it to be threaded. Please post an update, when you get your muzzle device installed.

The gun smith said that it needs 55thousands on the barrel to thread it to 14x1mm
if not you have to go to a smaller thread size....
mine is a little over

I have AKs that have work done by Troy at InRange and Mark Graham at Arizona Response Systems. Both do great work.

The gun smith said that it needs 55thousands on the barrel... Is that in reference to the outer diameter of the barrel?

MAk 90 has plenty of barrel for threading - anyone telling you differently is on crack.
You may have to move the FSB back a smidge if it has been cut to remove the factory threads, but doing this is a very minor job for a competent AK smith.

Glad to hear it. Good AK smiths can be hard to find. InRange is one of the good outfits.
