Watching Red Dawn when I was a youngster heavily influenced my life. I remember the patriotism that Americans used to exhibit back when we all knew how evil the Lenin model of communism was.
For a time we were all united against the spread of a tyrannical ideology that trampled individual liberty and kept everyone underpaid and underfed to prevent them from feeling strong enough to revolt.
40 years later, we’ve elected a bunch of leaders who have slowly turned us into the exact thing we spent the entire Cold War era fighting to avoid.
Still a great movie though.
