So first a little backstory on the Mk 12 concept... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mk_12_Special_Purpose_RifleI have another BCA rifle coming and thought that maybe a new build was in order. I have spare parts laying around as far as optics, bipods, etc and thought this would be a fun project to put together. Surrounding my camp are some really wide open spaces where shots out to 500-800 yards wouldn't be unheard of. Thoughts, ideas, lessons learned from putting one together? Some reviews from YT...

My only advice would be to not fall into the trap of trying to trim weight and make compromises in the name of being “ultralight”. In my experience, lightweight and slim profile elements don’t always contribute to a more accurate build.
Give the handguard plenty of clearance around the barrel (especially if you elect a heavy profile barrel, which I highly recommend). This will ensure that you never have to worry about the fasteners used to mount accessories to the handguard getting so close to the barrel that they affect harmonics.
Beyond that, get a barrel from a reputable manufacturer, but don’t be fooled into thinking that the most expensive barrel is automatically more accurate than a more affordable offering. Do a little research, and try not to be swayed by the flannel faction.
That’s about all I have to offer. Other folks might have something to add.

My take... I've only had it out to 500, but it did what I wanted it to do.

Besides waiting on a new RMR mount and updated scope, I think this is finished... I head out to camp next weekend so I will start dialing it in then.
