jerkingthetrigger.com/2011/03/31/heat-stippling-not-just-for-handguns/Anyone else have experience with stippling a handguard? Tossing back and forth stippling my MOE handguard because the plastic is a little slick when it gets wet with sweat and whatever, trying tennis racket tape for now but looking for something that is more part of the rifle itself (and cheap ). What do I need to get started and any tips?

Done it on pistols, and have seen it on rifles. It works, so does truck bed liner. When I did a Glock years ago I just used the cheapest soldering iron I could find on amazon. Try it out on a rail cover or something first to get the pattern you like down.

Something like this might work as well. And would be much cheaper then buying an iron and spending a couple hours smelling burnt plastic www.maggrips.com/store/
Sorry, I cant get the link to work, but go to grip kits, handguard grip kits and select your handguard type.

That is pretty interesting. I had searched before for a handguard grip kit but I guess my google-fu is lacking.

I prefer a MOE+ grip.

Gonna give this DIY handstop a try: www.triangletactical.net/2012/04/17/pearce-grip-handstop/Wife was ordering things from Amazon and needed some extra stuff for free shipping, so I ordered the pearce grip extension and necessary hardware to give it a try. This way I'll have something directly attached to the rifle without glue and I haven't gotten the spare time yet to try stippling.

I tried the DIY handstop with the Pearce grip extension, it worked pretty well. Gave me something to pull the rifle into my shoulder with, was low profile, problem was it didn't work in all positions. Like was discussed in the forward grip thread (I think that's where I saw it), my grip would move in different positions and the handstop would be no help at all. I have gone with waffenmacht's suggestion with the MagGrips, I'm loving it. Grips go all the way up on the bottom of the handguard so I have something to grab onto in different positions. I did have to use a tiny bit of super glue on two of the grips because I just couldn't get them to stick and don't plan on removing it any ways, the directions tell you not to do this though.
