When I was first old enough to start buying my own AR-15s, I often read about how the SEI Vortex Flash Suppressor could enhance the accuracy of a rifle. I own a couple of them and have owned them for some time. While I have never been able to see an accuracy improvement from them, I have seen cases that seem to indicate that they have less of a detrimental effect on accuracy than other flash suppressors. I am not sure if that is something intrinsic to the Vortex design or if that is just a function of the fact that you don't have to torque them tightly in order to time them on your muzzle (or maybe some combination).
I have also seen cases in testing where brakes with a side opening, baffle type construction have seemingly improved accuracy versus other designs presumably because they move the gases escaping the muzzle away from the projectile more quickly than you might have with some devices. Again, this seems more like a device having less detrimental effect than a device causing a gain in accuracy.
What has your experience been with muzzle devices in terms of how they effect accuracy? I've never been able to find any resource that tested this in anything close to a scientific way. Have you ever seen any testing that shines a light on this subject?

I've not seen that a flash hider/brake improves accuracy. I think if this were true, we would see a specific (more accurate) flash hider on all long range or precision guns. Suppressors however, can improve accuracy. But that's a different topic.
I dunno I'm not a long range/precision shooter, just thinking out load...
