Over many decades I have witnessed a lot of steel cased ammo being shot. This will include Wolf, Tula, Barnaul, Bear, Hornady, and quite a bit of Russian stuff that came from who knows where. Most of it was lacquer cased, with a lot of the newer stuff being coated in polymer. Most of it went bang, and sometimes there were some rounds that didn't. Power factor was all over the place and accuracy was minute of bad guy. Now onto the thought, I have seen many lacquer cased rounds get wet from rainy days on the range, or live rounds being dropped on the wet grass, but the rounds when left overnight (or longer) were fine with no signs of deterioration. When polymer coated rounds have hit the wet grass or been in the rain, often times I have found them rusted the next day. So for those who plan steel cased ammo, or using guns like the AK series that you will most likely be using steel cased ammo in these, what do you do in battle field conditions where ammo will most likely get exposed to moisture, as how do you plan on keeping your ammo from either getting wet or keeping it from forming corrosion on the casing.
