Trigger discipline and safety engagement when not on target, should eliminate the occurrence of an ND. Muzzle awareness, in the event of one occurring, will mitigate the event to just a scare for the rest of the unit and a dressing-down for the offender.
I'm more or less reiterating what's being said, but I think both should be taught, and the most apt applied for a given situation. Just like with admin/emergency reloads. Another arrow in the quiver, another thought module.

As I observe all the bullet holes in the roofs, along the walls, and untold other places holes should not be located, I am always amazed at how creative the NG-oopsies must be, and fearful of my fellow shooter that I do not know, trained with, or otherwise trust...
