Nice review. What's the thought behind moving the pockets on the jacket?
I understand the reasoning behind sleeve pockets on UBACS tops (nowhere else FOR pockets...) But not on normal shirts (commonality throughout gear, or other reasons?)
Totally agree with your take on 'made in the USA' (or anyones home country, for that matter...) Certainly I would get something made in China over the UK, if it's sewn gear. The skills aren't in the country anymore in enough BULK to make value products. The UK at least is very much a service not an industry based economy, and trying to fight that just means shelling out a lot of money with little effect on the bigger picture.
There's a bike gear company here that makes GOOD stuff, that openly admits to getting it's gear made in China because they beleive the quality from the factories THEY use is superior even after shipping etc to make better products for the customer. Now there ARE some high quality gear companies in the UK, and for GEAR? It can be worth the cost. But for clothing I find that there really is little competition, because of the massive price difference, and the sheer number of skilled workers they have abroad.

With our preferred normal gear loadout, the bottom pockets on a standard BDU top are pretty much useless for us, as they are completely covered up and inaccessible. By moving them to the shoulders they at least become usable again. Also easy to access while sitting or prone, etc..

I like your emphasis on 'our' What sort of stuff are you carrying in there if you don't mind sharing? Med stuff, or otherwise?
