another good video, i watched it a couple days ago, but took a while to get back in here...
i just wanted to ask what you think the advantage is of the rig you have on compared to the 3 pouch rig? obviously one more mag, but just want to know what you think hawkeye...
also, a lot of people have never had to wear tactial gear and fire a weapon in their lives, and would not know what to do in a real situation...they think their gear is going to do it for them...but its a total mindset, gear placement and proper action that you train consistently on, that not only saves the day, but saves your butt...
i prefer to be able to go into prone with cover as quickly as possible, standing up like commando and rambo will get you killed or maimed pretty fast...i just point people to some of the videos circulating around YT of the "rebels" in syria doing that...there is one where they show a guy who jumps out standing up, firing from the waist to strafe some soldiers behind cover, and then he got shot with 7.62x39 in the ankle and his foot was dangling...and thats reality...and a good example of what not to do...but a lot of people actually think they can do things like that when the SHTF (standing up firing from the hip) and they will actually be effective...which is fantasy...its sad, but there are a lot of armchair "preppers" out there that train and think this way, so that is why their gear is not arranged optimally...

Just read a thread on another forum, where someone was asking about this very thing..... where should he wear his chest rig. Does the name of the item in question not give the answer?? Equally amazing are the replies that he got. Wow.
One person commented on a related note..... said he wore a chest rig for a while and it really messed up his back. Said he'll never wear one again. As I read further, the issue became clear. He was running 15, yes, FIFTEEN, loaded mags on his chest rig. And there was his problem.

Hawkeye, what kind of holster are you using in this series of videos? I like how it fits snugly to the body. I have been looking at G Code holsters, but they seem to stick the pistol far off the body. What do you think? Also, do you think some form of secondary retention is a good idea for tactical holsters? Thanks for these great videos.

Its a Safariland ALS using their UBL belt attachment. I really like it. And yes, for real world use such as what we're talking about here, yeah, some kind of retention is needed.

Keep the videos coming.
Video Suggestion: What to carry on you and in your pack during a light assault.
The reason I purchased the AR chest rig is that I believe 3+1 is ideal balance between speed and firepower for a chest rig.

Because of the stupid youtube/google+ crap. Its easier to put a link in the description and use a thread here for comments. Makes it easier to reply to questions, etc...

I hate that crap too, there are several layers of stupid to YouTube responses now. I ended up doing the Google plus, even though I don't check it directly, just because I've spend so long building up my YouTube audience.

Great video.
Man, I found this stuff out the hard way a few years ago. I bought all the stuff the "cool guys" said I needed, put it all together, and "f**k me". Half the stuff I couldn't get out of the pouches on my belt because of the "necessary" triple mag pouches with 12 mags in the shest rig, and dual blow-out kits, and 6 pistol mags, and.................
Much more streamlined now, though I'm going to buy one of your rigs, because what I have now is an open-top bungee rig, and that's not so good in the woods here.
