Looking there it seems like, provided the ring mounts are the right height, the AK-302 base could work well for the vz-58.

I'm not sure if they are - but I have a VZ58 appointment on Saturday to check one out. Please let us know!!!!!!!! I recently took an AK Operator course with my VZ58 and ended up the #1 shooter (more the bow than the Indian in this case, got to love that bolt hold feature on the VZ). I went with 3 mags on battlebelt and 3 more in UW Gear bandoleer which allowed my old slightly overweight body move quite well (this is a great set up for people who feel over encumbered with chest rigs), My first set up with the VZ was the Czechpoint side rail mount but did not like it at all, way too high for me. I ended up with a NEA rail and handguard with Aimpoint Mini on front and that was an ok set up but I am very interested in these new mounts and if they will work on the VZ. I am also interested in the Akog mount, would have loved to taken my Krebs 5.45 rifle with a 3x small ACOG on it to this class.

We had to postpone, life got too busy to meet up for the VZ owner.

Did this ever get tested on a VZ-58?

We did a quick VZ "hold this thing up next to the other and see what needs to be changed" test and found it was really close, but would need a new lower for maximum usage.
This would be for Czechpoint built VZ-58's with a side rail installed on them.

Unfortunate. I was hoping all would just come together like magic and we would have a practical rear mount that cowitnesses.

Guys this is really good kit for your AK's. Solid products from good, like-minded folks.
Please bear in mind a lot of engineering design work goes into these things. Be patient as you wait for the model to fit your favorite commie blaster.

I'm in no hurry and my wallet agrees. The upper handguard for the micro dot works for now. Its worth waiting for something made for it rather than going sub optimal.

I currently have my Swampfox MKII set up a bit heavier than I usually do for chest rigs but this works. I just need a hydration carrier for it (hint, hint)...
