People with precision rifles - bolt action or semi auto - what are you using for a rest? Bipod? Tac sticks or whatever you call them? Or do you just use your pack as a rest?
I've just made myself some sticks and a MOLLE rest to go on a go-bag and am curious what you guys are using.
It occurs to me that sticks or a MOLLE rest on a bag would be useful no matter what rifle system you were using.
I suppose it falls to what terrain you're in. Some bipods wouldn't come close to leveling the rifle off if it's rough. Off a bench? Yeah, that 4-6" Harris will do nicely.

I just use a bipod with my Remington 700, never had an issue with it. The terrain here in central Florida lacks rocks and hills so it works well even in the sticks where I normally shoot. I generally place my weak hand under the rear of the stock when shooting from prone.

I have Harris Bipods on all of my long range guns. I still prefer sandbags or something similar if I have them available. Have used a tripod also that works well.
