Is the pic rail on the top of the scope removable if one has no intentions of installing a RMR? It might ever so slightly lighten up the scope. I'm about to buy one of these for a 16" midlength build. I love my Holosun ACSS red dot, but I have astigmatism and think this may be the ticket.

No. Its not removable. Even if it was, its so minuscule that it wouldn't change the weight by anything even noticeable.

I'm going back and forth on the 2.5x Primary Arms prism scope. Would it be weird to have a low magnification optic on an AR pistol? Reason is because I've gotten a little spoiled having a 1-4x scope on my 16", the magnification helps with shots past 25yrds because my eyes aren't perfect, and the prism scopes can be used without any batteries in the off chance an EMP were to kill red dots.
