Anybody have information on the quality of the SIG556 rifles?
I have the chance to get an original Gen 1 556 (the 556, not the 556R), it has the ribs and mag release fence on the lower receiver, comes with the "fishgill" handguards and the SIG 550 style handguards, HK style diopter sights, and the kind of shitty folding MAKO stock. I called SIG and they said I coukld replace the stock adapter with one that uses a conventional AR stock receiver extension, or one of the new MCX 1913 style adapters for the MCS stocks.

Sig 556 (have owned myself for short time):
Pros: -CHF barrel -Piston -Collapsable stock -Diopter irons
Cons: -The stock handguards are terrible, squeak and groan when handling thats how loose they are. this alone completely soured me on the rifle. -Not light -Looked/handled so much rougher and "low end" compared to the Sig516 (which is awesome)
Would I buy one? Despite the awesome features on paper..Only if the price was very good.
