Around Christmas I picked up a 40 Round Magpul magazine for a very good price. I choose the new "sand colored" one instead of the black because I heard about being able to dye them to whatever color you want. Being a bit skeptical as to the ease of it and almost letting my courage fail a few times and grab a rattle can to play it safe I took the plunge and gave it a try. I used the Dark Green liquid Rit Dye I found a Wal-Mart. I watched a few You Tube videos and got several different set of directions on how to do it. Since I only had the one magazine and not furniture I developed a method for doing it. It took about 10 minutes to do from start to finish and the pictures are below. I took a picture of it before with a black and foliage Gen 2 for color comparison. I did not come out as dark as felt it could be but I can just dye it again with a stronger concentration (you can always go light to dark but not the other way). Knowing how easy it is to do I want to do more, so if Magpul somehow happens to read this and wants to gift me with a bunch of free magazines I will be happy as a pig in slop to dye them. Anyway enjoy the pictures.

Time and concentration of dye... is the key a little heavier on the pour and leave in longer will darken the color up, a buddy and I did some in safety Blue. Took us 3 try's to get darkness correct.
