Not really surprising, Brazil is a corrupt, degenerate third world nation run by leftists. Should be motivation for all of us to get active in fighting the good fight before we get to that point and while we still have the means to do so.

Police can strike? That's new. Not allowed here. Same with the military... Because, just no.

Police can strike? That's new. Not allowed here. Same with the military... Because, just no. Well, its a matter if they can lawfully do so, or not. Their not allowed to protest, either, but their families are more than willing to do so for them, apparently. South American police, military, and military police, are notoriously underpaid, its one of the main reasons corruption is so prevalent in those agencies, and as to why there are some areas which are total no-go zones. They "don't get paid enough for that shit", so, that's also why extortion rackets are so prevalent, too. I think all of the "The Purge" comparisons are a bit much, however, what's going on which has not been caught on camera, may make that too much of an assumption on an indirect observer's part.

Pay your coppers, medical staff, fire staff and the people who who are important properly, and everything else tends to fall at least REASONABLY well into line. (I've never met someone who is totally happy with the country they live in unless they are rich as fuck... But I know I'd rather live here, rather than, say, The Yemen...)

Problems can arise when LEO unions get involved, the usual deputy/officer may not have any issues with the situations, but then the union wants everyone to fight for X. It really doesn't matter whether or not they're "allowed" to strike, they are, what're they gonna do? Arrest them? I'd add to the "pay cops/med/fire people well", allow (bad term but best way I can phrase it) your citizens to acquire and use the tools for defending themselves. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_laws_in_BrazilSo the gangs have AKs and the like, the common person has kitchen knives.

Those laws are truly Draconian, I don't understand how a people would allow themselves to live under such.
