Anyone have a GOOD comparison (pictures / video review / etc.) of differences between FLIR Scout PS24 and TK?
I'm looking at purchasing a TK, and I want to just make sure that paying a third of the price will still get me something usable.
If you know of any good video reviews between the two, that would be great as well!

I am also curious if anyone has done this..
A lot of folks own the Scout II I think the hard part will be to find folks who already have gotten a TK (as they are pretty new) and had a chance to have both side-by-side...

If I don't hear much back I'll probably just buy one and then do a comparison post with the TK and one of our guys' Scout II

My buddy has the TK and and it's certainly a nice piece of equipment. Especially at that price point. He got his for 480 new. Unfortunately I don't have enough time behind the other one to give a fair enough comparison.
The thing keeping me from getting a TK is the lack of replaceable batteries. Apparently you need to send it back to the company when it stops taking a charge? Big turn off for me

I just ordered a TK. I have a friend that has one and he likes it. He is a LEO and a backpacking freak, not sure how much "prepper" he is. He did a review on YT about it. Not a compare vid though.

I also prefer replacable batteries but also have a small and light battery pack i can use with it and connect via the USB to extend battery life. Both start out with a nominal 5 hr battery life which is pretty good IMO ( tho I suspect really its less)

Very helpful stuff - thank you!! I think i'm gonna buy one. The battery pack thing is kind of annoying, but I get it from their perspective.

The Extra battery pack I have (sometimes) in my FLIR pouch is an aftermarket thing I use to recharge the unit as needed. Seems to work for an extra couple hours charge.

The FLIR Scout II has an integral and internal battery, that gets charged via USB.. I have an external battery so in a pinch I can recharge the unit on the go in the field. W/ USB of course u can always use a car charger also which I also have in addition to the regular outlet charger..

Wonder what tactical pouch I can use....hmm, once the FLIR arrives, off to the bunker to put something together....
