I got one of these. Load is satisfactory for a survival rig. Ammo compliment is 9x 30rnd mags. I can fit one- one liter- water bottle and cup in one side pouch and bare essentials in the other. Combines with smock kit and added trouser belt kit its a satisfactory rig.The cargo capacity is no where near as useful as normal webbing .. I would not recommend these against current gun fighter rig trends. Its very protective of its cargo. So access is not easy as it could be. Fit is ROBUST. Weight is heavy duty and quality is superb. Generally speaking one can get this from the Uk or Canada for about 50$ shipped. I will have no comment about field fit and performance for sometime. Im busy with the Evader vid at the mo.

Pouches are suited to '58 pattern mug and matching metal mug/cooker. Not THE BEST system, but functional, cheap, and you have water and food all in one place.
Given the high capacity and the weight that comes with it (9lbs just in magazines on the chest, add your 1L of water and all the stuff inevitably crammed into the other pouch, and you're up at 15lb very easily, without realising.) I would suggest potentially dedicated the right hand mag pouch to some sort of medical kit, or something OTHER than magazines.
Map pocket is good but basic; it is very much a map pocket and not an admin pouch like more modern gear.
This gear was very much set up around Northern Ireland, and very specifically for vehicle drivers who wouldn't be expecting to do anything long distance.
There is no reason at all this couldn't be used for survival type stuff, the trick is keeping that weight down that can climb really easy on these rigs.
They do have radio pouches that fit the left shoulder, or you could have something made up to go in its place. The press stud fastening is suprisingly secure when used with the proper directional press stud fastenings.
One final though; Fuck knows what that bloke in the second picture is expecting to fight with webbing and a fucking chest rig. Given the state of his and his mates kit he hasn't got a fucking clue what's happening.
