Anyone know of any decently priced (<$75) AA weapon light?
Have a basic (cheap CREE light) AA flashlight on my rifle right now because it's what I had on the 22 before I got my real rifle. I see all these nice looking weapon lights, but they all use non standard batteries, trying to make as much of my stuff run on AA as possible so that I can recharge them all.
I know it's not that big of an issue to just stock up on whatever batteries the light runs on, but it would simplify things to try to keep it all AA.
Whitebear620,
$75 is a bit tough, with the mount, but I can come close with a solution for you. Without the mount, $75 is easy.

2 AA batteries providing 155 lumens for $40 shipped
Or...
1 AA battery providing 70 lumens for $30 shipped.

Obviously that is just the light, a lightweight one at that.
Now for the mount...
Frank Proctor Gen 3 Light Mount.

$60, but it looks like they are out of stock right now. That's is because they really are that good. I have three of them on various weapons.
Together this combo is a light weight package.
The light mount is designed for the Protac 1L with the CR123 battery. No problem. Take some black electrical tape and wrap a few layers around the body of your light to build up the diameter a bit. It is easy. I've done it and it works fine.
Hope this is something you will consider. It's a great package as a reasonable cost.
If you want to spend a bit more, for $104 shipped. you can get the Rail Mount 1, as previously mentioned. It is bigger, bulkier, and mounts a bit more awkward than the Proctor mount in my opinion.

Your choice.
Take care,
