MATTS; Military Annual Training Tests; Fitness (Run, TAB RMT's (Representative Military Tasks - Jerry can carry. Lifting X Weight onto the back of a 4 Ton Lorry...)), Medical, Shooting, Values & Standards, Operational Law etc.
Definitely something to set store by, but perhaps reworked for personal circumstances (No lowering of standards!)
I think the list presented there is perhaps TOO detailed, given that it's not your day job to know the deep depths of those skills and specific weapons systems etc.

"I think the list presented there is perhaps TOO detailed, given that it's not your day job to know the deep depths of those skills and specific weapons systems etc." Are you talking about the complete list? Did you read the post and note the highlighted parts, or just skim over it? The highlighted areas is what I said I thought were important, "First Aid, Commo, Land Nav, Movement as a Buddy Team and in a patrol, and proficient accurate use of your primary weapon", and the other things like belt fed machine guns, and grenade launchers were not highlighted, for that very reason. The point of the post was me taking the time to show what was important from a civilian Survivalist or Neighborhood Protection Team member, not to regurgitate a military manual. I'll confess to skim reading. On second reading I note that the comments added appear to pertain to whole sections and are a simplification of the relevant information, in a more appropriate form for the average civilian. Upon re-reading with a little more attention to the intent of the post, I would still go as far as to say CBRN is irrelevant and that to pass that information on to others it needs to be simplified before sharing. There is perhaps an inherent danger in simplifying that the comparison between military and civilian is lost, and that it becomes something regurgitated without thought; But that is the balance between all information passed from the more knowledgeable to the less. Overall I agree with your message, just some crossed wires and misinterpretation.

"I would still go as far as to say CBRN is irrelevant and that to pass that information on to others it needs to be simplified before sharing." I agree,, and I have written and spoken about that very thing (specifics in CBRN) when not confined to something as general as a common skills manual table of contents. This was used to show what everyone is required to do in the US Army, regardless of their MOS, and to point out which of those skills are applicable to civilians who want to be prepared.
