Put this together a few years ago, it was accompanied with some shooting drills/medical response that was experienced after this presentation. But for those of you bored, looking to kill time, you can listen to us ramble about medical kits and procedures. This also covers a basic HSGI Bleeder blow-out and what I personally carry in mine as well as the application of an Izzy bandage. .

pretty good video. At the end one guy says to put on a TQ on the forearm. I personally have not had very good results when applying a TQ below the elbow or knee. Not saying you shouldn't try, just be ready to have another TQ to go on above the knee or elbow in case you cannot tighten the TQ tight enough to get the bleeding to completely stop. In a massive hemorrhage, I would go above the elbow or knee first as every drop of blood lost is one red blood cell closer to shock.
Thanks for the vid, waffenmacht

I'll be sharing that with my guys, thanks.
I bought a HSGI Blowout kit, but the thing is really too small to be of practical use.

judomayhem Don't get rid of the HSGI BOK. It is big enough for what it is used for. Many think that it needs to carry a bunch of stuff, and it isn't made for that. It is an "oh $hit I am bleeding bad" kit. TQ on the outside, some petroleum gauze, a Quik-Clot Combat Gauze 3" and an Izzy 4". Thats it, period. This is your go to for a big bleeder. Your IFAK is for all the other stuff...4"x 4" gauze, 5"x 9" gauze, NPA/OPA, rolled gauze, another Izzy, etc. The stuff in the HSGI BOK should be the easiest to get to with either hand. The IFAK may be attached to your belt or a pack and used as a secondary kit if you need more stuff, or you don't need to use what is in your BOK first for a minor bleed.
