At first glance it looks like a pretty standard "new" take on the AR, but there's a lot of very interesting user-replaceable parts on it... Just watched a Nutnfancy review and it looked pretty decent. He may be a bit of a goof, but the rifle looks good...
And our friend MAC's take:

Very nice!!
Its refreshing to get such an unqualified endorsement from major reviewers.
At this point i have too many rifles though and my money will go to ammo and combat multipliers Still so tempting (drool)

I have drooled over this rifle, fondled it at the local shop, I just can't bite on the price though. It's a shame, seems like a damn good weapon, and is probably worth it's price tag.

I wonder if the keymod rail.front picatinny assembly is solid enough to retain zero on the front BUIS?

Nice looking firearm.
The recoil spring looks pretty fragile, not beefy enough, or something. That little spring getting a full compression every shot seems, well, like I'll give it a few years before I'd consider trusting it.
With most devices, there's a working out the bugs period. AK47 to AKM and the AR rifle's 50 yr evolution are good examples.

To give life to an old thread... I recently had a chance to fondle the 300 BlackOut version of the MCX, and I too was totally impressed with the fit, quality feel, and LIGHT WEIGHT of this carbine. It looked like a great weapon, and everything seemed to be built right.
Then I saw the MAC video on it and saw it seemed very finicky to WATER and being wet. And having looked at one, I could see why MAC was making his educated guess on why he was having so many failures to fire with it.
And this just re-affirmed my admiration of the AR-15 and its DI gas system. Yes, it has a few issues, but all in all, AR's are now days VERY reliable if built right and maintained properly, especially heavy on the lube. My AR's have been very reliable over the years. The only one I ever had a problem with was an OLY upper over a decade ago. My AR's, and the AR's of my friends, just WORK... And the MAC torture tests of the AR and the AK in mud and sand even further guarded my trust in the AR DI system.
This is why I am now building an SPR-ish AR instead of getting a MCX...
